Get a useful result
Include everyone, including people who paid nothing, and use one currency. If Ana pays 60 and Luis pays 30 in a group of Ana, Luis and Mar, the total is 90: Mar transfers 30 to Ana and each person ultimately bears 30.

What happens to cents that cannot be divided equally?
They are assigned in participant order so the total is preserved. An expense of 10 shared by three people becomes 3.34, 3.33 and 3.33. Transfers are a settlement proposal; the website does not make payments.
