Scanned PDF OCR

Recognize Spanish and English text and create a searchable PDF locally. No account required. Processing stays in your browser.

OCR · LOCAL PROCESSINGNo uploads

Recognize printed Spanish and English text. The engine and language files load from this website; your document is processed on your device. This can take several minutes.

Up to 20 MB. PDF: 10 pages at 180 DPI. Images: JPG or PNG, up to 16 megapixels. Encrypted PDFs, forms and digital signatures are not supported. Use straight, sharp text; check names, numbers and accents. Handwriting, tables and formulas may not be recognized correctly.

Get a useful result

Use OCR when the PDF is a scan and you cannot select its words. Choose the content’s language and start with clear pages. Afterwards, compare names, amounts, accents and reference numbers against the original images.

A practical example

Try a one-page scan containing “Energy is transformed”. Select English, run OCR and search for the sentence in the generated PDF. Review recognition errors.

Does a searchable PDF guarantee an exact transcription?

No. Recognized text may contain errors even when the page looks correct. Tables, equations, handwriting and tilted pages need particular care. If the PDF already has selectable text, try PDF to text first.
